What a Moroccan invoice should show

A checklist of the details expected on an invoice in Morocco (article 145 of the General Tax Code). Check the current rules with your accountant: DraftYes has a place for each of them.

  • Your company name, legal form and address
  • Your ICE, IF, RC and Patente numbers
  • Your client's name, address and ICE (for a business client)
  • A unique invoice number and the date
  • Each item: description, quantity and unit price before tax
  • The VAT rate and amount, and the totals before and after tax
  • The total in words, as is customary in Morocco
  • Payment terms and your bank details (RIB)

The total in words, the Moroccan way

In French, a quote closes with "Arrêté le présent devis à la somme de" and an invoice with "Arrêtée la présente facture à la somme de", then the total in dirhams and centimes, spelled out correctly. In Arabic: «فقط … درهم مغربي لا غير».

Arrêtée la présente facture à la somme de : Trente mille quatre cent trente-huit dirhams

Questions from Moroccan businesses

Is DraftYes suitable for an auto-entrepreneur?

Yes. Add your ICE and choose the "VAT exempt" rate if you don't charge VAT: your quotes and invoices show your identifiers and the total in words, and the Free plan is enough to start.

Can my documents be in French and in Arabic?

Yes. Each document has its own language: French, Arabic or English. The client page, the PDF, the WhatsApp message and the amount in words follow it.

Is DraftYes a certified e-invoicing solution for the DGI?

No. DraftYes produces commercial quotes and invoices (PDF and Excel) with online approval. When the DGI's electronic invoicing becomes mandatory for your company, issue your invoices from a solution certified for it; DraftYes stays useful for everything before the invoice.

How do I pay for a subscription from Morocco?

By Visa or Mastercard through Stripe, in US dollars. Moroccan cards work when online payments abroad are enabled on the card (ask your bank). The Free plan needs no card.

Which VAT rates can I use?

The standard 20% rate is ready when you sign up from Morocco. Add the other rates you use (14%, 10%, 7%) or "exempt" in Settings, and choose one per line.

Your next quote… will it be approved faster?
